this song is so meaningful to me bcoz it talks about heaven...i really can't wait to get there. no sick, or lame, no weeping, no hurt or pain. just being in God's presence.

life is too short, so it's better to fully concentrate on those closest to you, physically and emotionally... and then to pour out our lives to those who can't give back, like the Myanmar refugee children, not those who can give back but don't bother to...like most of the contacts in our FB world who stay in touch but from a sickeningly safe distance ...

"you get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself"

this isn't true all the time..,.but when it is, you're lucky.

being a nurse reminds me of God's love and compassion, trains me in compassion, service, loving others and humility. makes me think of how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.

Heb 6:10 : God is not unfair

Of late I've had to deal with situations where people were unfair to me. It made me wonder, why do I have to suffer this? why doesn't God just prevent it from happening? After all, I didn't do anything wrong. then I thought of David, who was unfairly hunted down and almost killed by King Saul. of Abel, who was unfairly..uh..killed by his brother. of Jesus, who was of course, falsely accused and unjustly murdered as well. Perhaps being righteous or a child of God doesn't prevent you from being unfairly treated.

However, at the end of the day, thankfully, God is not unfair.

Have you ever gone without?
Not for a day, not for a week;
Have you ever been denied the stuff of life indefinitely?
I haven't. Taps always run water for me, hot or cold.
Food is never far away. Good food, clean food.
I needn't catch it, forage for it, disinfect it, queue for it.
I always have shelter. Always a roof. Always warmth.
Sure, the roof may leak, I may get cold - but this is the exception.
I have plenty.
A friend is never far from me, nor company, nor love.
I have many who make me feel special, needed, important.
There are many also to whom I may return this favour.
I have family. Siblings. Parents.
I of their blood and they of mine. We share, we laugh, we fight,
we cry; we love.
Lucky me.
I have freedom. I can change my life and make as much or as
little of it as I desire. With the gifts of determination and passion I
have the power to realise dreams.
Many of us do.
If you, unlike me, have truly been without, I salute you.
If your throat is parched and dry with thirst, if you cry with joy
when food is available, if you shiver at night with bitter cold; I hail
your courage.
If you have ever been alone so absolutely that you ache, or
denied a family by events beyond your control; my heart aches
for you.
If you are bound into existence that you do not desire, with no
hope of realising even the most modest of your dreams; I pledge
to help you.
I do not know you, but I know you are there.
I have plenty. Enough to share.

I myself didn't believe I actually have the strength to do all these. Whatever good that I have done is from the Lord, not me. Being there made me realize that God loves him so much, I feel honoured and blessed to be there to witness God's unfailing love. The biggest hearted friend of Kavern is not me, is Jesus, the Lord.

i made this bacon minestrone soup for dinner last night. delicious with toasted turkish bread. not quite authentic as it had bacon slices and spicy sausage in it coz gav's wants a bit of meat in every meal! the beans in it gave some protein and bulk. I used to think that soup surely can't be filling enough to be a meal but it was.
